2009 Riverstone & District Historical Society Journal Release
6th Dec 2009
The 2009 issue of the Riverstone & District Historical Society Journal will be released from the printers in December, and should be available by the museum’s monthly opening on the 6th of December 2009.
Riverstone’s 200th Anniversary
Throughout 2010
In recognition of the 200th anniversary of the first land grant in the Riverstone area, the society will organise to have a number of theme events for the museum’s monthly openings. A schedule of these events will be released early next year.
Opening of the New Museum Hall
The Official opening of the new display shed took place in February 2010 and was a great success despite the inclement weather.
The shed features a 1950s model of Riverstone and display items from that era.
7 March 2010 10am - Seniors Morning tea followed by normal Museum Opening
4 April 2010 11am - Museum opening day. (Combined Church service to be held in the Lions Park next door at 11am (please confirm time on Blacktown City Council web site)
11 April 2010 10 am - National Trust Festival launch. Museum and Lions Park.
Riverstone Festival
15th May 2010
The annual Riverstone festival will be carried out again in 2010. In recognition of Riverstone’s 200th anniversary, a number of commemorative activities will take place during the festival.
