The exhibits in this room are representative of items that would have been in use in the town and surrounding district in the 1950s. Some would have been made before that, but would have still appeared in local houses into the 1950s and beyond.
The fireplace surround and mantle from Binks Cottage which stood on the corner of Garfield Road East and Hamilton Street.
Part of a Hills Hoist which stood in a yard in Brisbane Street.

A Rotofridge. This unique fridge is cylindrical and has a spindle which rotates inside meaning everything inside is easily accessed.

An electric stove which was installed at 8 Regent Street after the electricity was installed in 1934.
A 1950s Black and White valve television.
The model was built by local resident Graham Britton who kindly donated it to the Historical Society to display at the Museum.
